Will question

My mother passed away recently and it’s spurred me into thinking about making a will.

If I make a will and leave everything to my two children, What happens if one of my children dies before me?

If I don’t change the will, does their share of my will automatically go to the surviving sibling or does it get passed on to their children if they have any? I hope I’m making sense 🙈

Why don’t you just provide for that in the will?

Allthebestusernameshavegone · 05/07/2020 20:29

Didn’t realise you could do that. Haven’t seen anyone yet, but plan on sorting one soon x

Allthebest

May I suggest you look at Marlow Wills (aka Mumblechum01, she’s a regular contributor here) she did our wills via Skype. She’s the Mumsnet go to will person. We found her very thorough and reasonably priced.

Another vote for talking to
@mumblechum0 https://www.marlowwills.co.uk who did our wills, first talking us through all the possible permutations. Very helpful.

Thank you @RamblinRosie and @FinallyHere for the recommendations

OP, I normally include provision that, if a client’s child predeceases, their share passes to their own children if they have any. If not, their share passes to their siblings.

Feel free to get in touch any time 😊
