Neighbour using NHS clap as excuse to harass

Ok so we've had an ongoing problem with our upstairs neighbour (a childless 60 yr old couple- betting miserable and aggressive). They've been harassing us (me, my husband and 1.5 yr old) since we moved in 1.5 years ago. They own, we rent.
Multiple accounts, the police have been called and have previously issued our neighbours with 2 x harassment orders. They basically hate me and my child (no exaggeration) and bang on their floor whenever he so much as sneezes. If he cries at night if I'll etc, they will bang a pole on the floor.
The last few weeks, upstairs have been using aforementioned poles on their floor and banging directly over our living room during the NHS clapping. We've recorded. It's clearly NOT clapping at the windows or door and is banging on their floor.

I just feel totally victimised and exhausted by their hate - we had planned to buy and move at end of this year but obviously with the economy we may be here longer if our jobs fold (and we don't want to change rentals short term as it's better for the mortgage application if we're consistent tenants where we are). We also like the other renters in this block and like the area etc.

Does anyone have any idea if we can do anything about this banging (clearly on their floor) during nhs clapping? Wtf is wrong with them quite frankly! Wish we could move.

The NHS clapping is irrelevant, the fact that you are not able to love a normal life is lal that matters.

You can keep logging the incidents with the police, or contact a solicitor maybe.

You refer to it as a block... Is there a management company? Perhaps they could intervene?

Could it be a walking stick, rather than a pole? I can imagine someone banging a walking stick out of frustration with noise and perhaps even banging it instead of clapping for the NHS.
To be honest, I find the banging of pots and pans equally irritating and I don't have any young children.

You report every incident, get recording equipment from the council, you challenge every time and you get the police round to talk to them. Don’t change your behaviour or try and appease them, live reasonably and sod them!

Hi thanks for your replies. I don't think it's a walking stick- neither parties have any visible mobility issues and I've seen them cycling/ walking within the last two weeks (unfortunately).

We're in a block of 6 flats. All other tenants are "normal".

Will keep recording- we already have an ongoing diary that we write in, plus a lovely little folder on our computer to store evidence of previous harassment (photos of criminal damage to our vehicles/ garage....what fun!)

Have you involved the police?
