Finding mobile home ownership

Can anyone tell me how to find the owner of a mobile home in the UK please?

I'm not in the UK and a title search brings up the owner of the land, not the mobile home that's on it.

There is no register of mobile home owners. The site operator would know but telling you would be a breach of GDPR.

You could try electoral records for the address (if there is one, and it's not just field number three of a larger property) but the chances are slim that you'd find much in the way of official records if someone is using it as temporary accommodation.

You could ask the registered owner of the land who they're letting it to but I guess it depends why you went to know.

Or knock on the door?

To give some background, my step-uncle bought a mobile home and lived in it. Years ago, when he met his wife they bought a house and allowed his mum - my step-nan - and my grandad to live in it rent-free but they had to pay the pitch fees.
Maybe years have gone by, step-nan has died as has step-uncle's wife. My grandad is in his 90s and unable to live alone so has moved in with my mum.
There is quite a bit of a mess to sort out and Mum and I would like to know who actually owns the mobile home. Logic suggests it's my step-uncle but he's on benefits which my Mum thinks he's not entitled to if he owns two homes outright so I'm wondering if he has sold it or signed it over to someone else.

As I said, I'm not in the UK so logistics are quite difficult.

Theres a document assigning the fees over to my grandad but it looks really dodgy (contradicts itself, interested party signing as witness, names missing etc. )
The site manager says he remembers signing it so it might be worth my mum asking him if he could tell her who owns it. Step-uncle now also lives on the same site.

In terms of benefits, I suspect it would depend on whether the mobile home is a caravan-type thing (i.e. a vehicle) or more like residential park home that you could actually live in which might be classed as properly for benefit purposes. Because if it's non-residential, it's unlikely that the DWP could argue its a second property.

In terms of who owns it, only the owner knows and it sounds like your step-uncle was and possibly still is the owner. One would expect some paperwork if it belonged to your grandad so if there's no paperwork and if he can't confirm, I would assume it doesn't belong to him.

It's a residential park home, definitely not a caravan or anything like that. It has permanent services.

I'm sure it doesn't belong to my grandad. I suppose it doesn't really matter who it belongs to, but I'd like to get to the bottom of this pitch fee thing because I think my Mum needs to get it reversed/changed/cancelled.
