House in trust

My father got married a few years before he died, this is all some decades ago. Before he died he said the house would be left in a trust for his children.

I have got a copy of his will from the Govt wills and probate service, there is no mention of a trust and no mention of the house. Everything mentioned (pension, death in service payment) went to his wife. Is it certain that the house is not in a trust?

Thanks for any information.

Unless the trust was created before his death then it would appear not, unless he made a subsequent will which was not presented and this older one was

Does the will mention the estate, residual estate, residual heirs, anything like that? The house would be part of his estate and not need a named nominee, I believe.

This was definitely the will that was probated, from what you say.

I used this website: probatesearch.service.gov.uk

It has a date and says the administration of all the estate was granted by the court to his wife. The actual will says 'I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate to (wife's name) and nominate (wife's name) for pension rights and death benefits'.

I guess 'real estate' would mean the house.

Thanks for info.

Of course there is a big back story here, I had improved my opinion of my father since he died but my opinion is in freefall now.
