Can I ask to see safeguarding info

Name changed but I'm a regular poster. I don't to drop feed but I also don't want to give too much detail.

I am classed as a vulnerable adult, and have recently been involved in a situation where I was a quite serious risk.

I've become aware that over the course of at least a few months (possibly years) people were making safeguarding reports about me in an organisation that I'm a part of, saying that they were concerned about me and that I needed help.

I am frankly baffled as to how these numerous reports were being made and, as far as I can tell, no action at all was taken.

I am safe now, and I have also left the organisation in question. As part of moving forward I want to understand why these concerns weren't taken seriously and no action was taken. No one spoke to be about it at all.

Is there a way for me to request these reports? Is it possible there was an investigation going on that I wasn't being told about?

Thanks.

Is this your employer or an agency who were supporting you?

Hi,

Sounds like you have been in a difficult position. I am a data protection specialist so the first place to start would be to make a subject access request to the organisation for any records relating to you. A subject Access request is a legal right under data protection legislation and an organisation has to provide the information it holds about you within a calendar month. If there have been safeguarding reports, they should provide them although they may remove the name of the person making the report. They will probably try to avoid providing the information but you have a right to see it.

Here is the link to the ICO website telling you how to make the request. If you need some help, send me a message. ico.org.uk/your-data-matters/your-right-to-get-copies-of-your-data/

Thanks for the replies.

Titiana it was a charity. I've never worked for them.

Lesley thank you. I'll have a look at the information and might pm you later.
