Small Claim Hearing

I have to attend court for a small claim hearing next week and I’m starting to freak out about it.

I’ve looked online for information on how it works but it’s not detailed enough. I know I need to have my documents ready to show the judge and I know what time to get there.

What happens once I’m there?
What is the room like?
Will there be people watching me?
Do I stand up when I speak?

If anyone has been through this and can answer I’d be very thankful.

Sc are normally held in the judges chambers, which is like an office. There are not normally people watching like in open court, normally heard by a district judge or deputy district judge. Address as Sir or Ma'm. When you arrive at the court building, you need to report to the usher and tell them you are there and for what case. When you enter chambers greet the judge with good morning sir/ma'm and say I am Miss xxxxxxxx and the defendant/applicant in this matter. Speak clearly and don't ever speak over the judge. Wear something appropriate with sleeves and no cleavage. Hope that helps.

And yes, sit down and remain seated.

That is really really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
