A question on PR

Can any learned people here tell me how PR works where a parents is not permitted direct or indirect contact with a child? Having dramas as particular parent has changed the child's GP details without my knowledge or consent The CAO makes no reference to PR but the school are worried about ex demanding various information under the guise of PR & I would like to stop further instances of this occurring. Thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% sure so someone correct me of I am wrong but as far as I am aware, if he has PR he is entitled to things like school reports even if he doesn't have contact. Not sure if that's what you mean.

Thanks for replying Russell19. Yes I would expect him to be able to access school reports & be made aware of any medical conditions should they occur. I'm more concerned with finding out if he's allowed to change the child's GP etc based on his PR without my consent. I only found out when I tried to book her an appt. I should point out that he's incredibly devious and vexatious so nothing should surprise me tbh Hmm. I just wondered is there any legal standing preventing him from doing this sort of thing due to him not allowed to see her. Have spent too baby years being dragged to court by him to go back if I don't have to.

Hmmm I don't know the legal side of things so hopefully someone comes along who knows more than me. But if the school know about the background and court order etc surely they won't allow him to change any details. Any reasonable headteacher would work with you on this x

Just take the CAO into your GP and have it noted on her records that you do not give consent for a change and to contact you if any requests to change are made.

Justleaveusalone · 01/10/2019 20:51

Hi Stripy, I've done exactly that but received a call from her school that they've received new gp details from dad and they're worried about being stuck in the middle. He has previous for kicking off & threatening to sue everyone when he doesn't get his own way. It's so draining - I never know what stunt he intends to pull next.

Russell19 the school are fully aware of the problems but as he's shouting about his rights under PR they do not know where they stand. He's so desperate for attention that it would be funny if it wasn't so stressful Angry

No, he can't change your child's GP without your consent. That is the kind of thing you both need to agree on.

Justleaveusalone · 02/10/2019 13:50

Prh47bridge - that's what I thought. As he has no contact, there's no need for him to do anything with or make changes to the child's info so long as he is kept updated. He's just being vexatious as per usual. Thank you for clarifying.
