How can I get them to pay my money back?

I ordered a product for my home in December and paid the invoice for half the cost as required - £2000 by bank transfer. Product has never been delivered. There were multiple broken delivery dates, a range of excuses and long periods of no contact whatsoever.
I made a court claim for money and then applied for a CCJ – which I have. I am now not sure how to go about enforcement. The GOV.UK pages are not completely clear and all the Bailiffs require upfront payment with no guarantee of success.

Does anyone have any experience of what should be my next step?

Thank you for replying.

The product is an expensive greenhouse. No I didn't pay by Credit Card - so stupid. I always do but they sent me an invoice and I suppose because I was thinking in terms of home improvements rather than "stuff" I just paid the invoice. (I had a lot of personal stuff going on at the time including a house move so was not as careful as I usually am)

I have tried Companies House and they are not on the insolvency register, (so far). The bailiffs is another risk though - as you say.

They sell greenhouses so there might be greenhouses that can be removed by the bailiffs and sold but that will not be easy. I was really looking for cash or a way of taking payment direct from the bank account.

I'll never do this again though.

No one can answer that.

Here are your options www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money/enforce-a-judgment

Based on your knowledge of the debtor decide which is best for you.

Thank you - it is just difficult to know how to proceed. I appreciate the advice though

My first instinct was to report to the police - for fraudulent trading. No time for CCJ, bailiffs and all that. However, I always warn the other party my intention first, to give them a last chance. It always works! I've advised friends and relatives the same and they report back later to say, "Thanks - issue now resolved".

I hadn't thought of that!

It is shit when people do this, it really is.
