To complain or take legal action?

My mum passed away recently and was repatriated abroad for burial.

On the morning of her funeral abroad we discovered that her body had not been put into her flight. We were not told in advance and only found out when the funeral
Director was told at the airport.

This resulted in her funeral being re-arranged not withstanding distress to family and friends and significant cost.

We have been offered no explanation other than it was caused by ‘an internal process failure’

Should we take legal action? Any idea what this would cost? Or complain? Thank you x

You should only take legal action when you have exhausted all other avenues to get compensation. What legal action would cost depends on how much you want to claim.

Thanks. You mean like complaining?

Yes. Go through their complaints process first.

It would be worth checking what normal advice is and whether you were misadvised by the funeral director.
A family member died abroad and was cremated abroad, we were advised not to book the internment service until the ashes were in the country and released from customs as this can be tricky.
