Bank transactions

Hi, I am owed money by someone and they told me that my money will be in my account within 72 hours (this was last Thursday so 8 days ago now) and I still haven't received anything. Is there any type of bank transaction etc that would take longer than 8 days to come into my account? Her excuse is 'you just have to wait until it clears on your account' whatever that means..

I am 99.9% sure she is lying and that she hasn't made the payment at all and is just stringing me along. I want to be 100% before I start legal proceedings against her though. Thanks.

Hi bank employee here is the money coming from abroad? If so maybe but unlikely ,if uk definitely not I am afraid, most payments are more or less within a day or a few days if coming by bacs but definitely not that long

Ask her for proof it has left her account. If she input wrong details it could also have gone astray. Or she may not have sent it at all

It's UK to UK, I asked for proof but she's not telling me anything just keeps saying if I want to know stuff or not patient enough then I can get a solicitor to speak to her solicitor. She knows full well I can't afford a solicitor.

Yes more than likely she hasn't sent it at all. Scamming piece of shit she is, absolute pathetic human being.

Send her a letter giving a reasonable deadline for payment and saying you will take legal action if you don't receive the money by then. If she owes you less than £10,000 (assuming you live in England) you can then take actin against her in the small claims court. You don't need a solicitor for that.

Your bank will probably be able to tell you if there is a transaction pending. Mine can.

It must be a lot money if solicitors involved. Id be getting serious about this. Ring your bank, they'll be able to tell you.
