Hello, is anyone able to tell me if the executor will be made aware if a copy of a will is ordered online?

I am a beneficiary of a will and would like to see it. But I dont want the executor to know I am looking at it so wont order one if so.

Ooh can you order copies of wills online? Genuinely didn’t know this!

WomanLikeMeLM · 21/07/2019 17:29

Why do you not want them to know especially if you are the beneficiary in the will?

FilthyforFirth · 21/07/2019 17:34

Yes you can @Nearlyfriyay987654321. Here is the link

It is a family thing. The executor is a relative but is quite sensitive and any asking to look at the will, will be seen as a suggestion I dont think they are doing it right. Which isnt the case at all. They have been vague on the amount and for my personal financial planning it would be useful to know.

You can search for a will by using the will locating service, they can tell you exactly which solicitor or body holds the will, however, if you are not the executor you cannot view without their permission even if you are a beneficiary. The only way you can view is if it has been through probate and then you can request a copy for £10 without anyone else knowing

Right, that is what I was asking, thank you @Chista. It has been through probate.

No the executor doesn't get notified if you order it online.
