Do I have any redress? Is that even a word?

Ok.
Long, long story very short!
Had an oven that was faulty.
After 7 long months of many engineer visits and new parts they finally agree to replace.
Whoo hoo!
Today was the day..
My shiny new oven after 7 months of a not really working one.
Fitter wires it in, puts it on 250 degrees then leaves.
(Luckily I did not pick ds2 up from school so I was in the house...)
I perused the operating manual and it said I needed to empty the oven before pre heating so I opened the oven door to take all the trays, racks out and was met by flames and acrid, dense smoke.
The fitter had left packaging in the oven cavity!
I now have smoke damaged walls and soft furnishings and....no oven.
I've been trying to post a pic but mn app wont let me.
The companies involved (3 of them!! Joy!!) Just don't seem that bothered that their fitter set fire to my kitchen.
They are quoting 2-3 weeks for a replacement.
I'm really unhappy about this obv but we dont want to claim on our insurance as the excess is £300 and our premiums would go up.
And I really feel like the companies should be trying to sort this out?
😔🤬

Yes they should pay for the damage to be put right, plus any extra expenses caused by 6 months without an oven. Have a look at the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
