Cease and desist to neighbour

Hiya I really hope someone will read this and offer some advice.

I'm having issues with my neighbour across the street, the issues started 8 months ago when I started dating her ex BF it's constant everyday, she's shouting obscenities at me, allowing her 16 year old daughter to call me disgusting names, she's spread lies about me to the local nutcase and I now have her threatening and intimidating me, she watches me when I'm in my bedroom, stands in her garden smirking and laughing at me, she's phoned the police on me for something I never did. The list goes on and on it's getting to the point now where I won't leave the house anymore and that has an impact on my children as I no longer allow them to play out.

My question is can I issue a cease and desist for intimidation and harassment and her daughter is just as bad as her if not worse as she gloats she's only 16 and legally I can't touch her but can I?

Please help I'm at my wits end

Forgot to say that I log everything she does to me and in the last 3 days there have been 8 incidents

Christ. That one sentence makes it sound terribly Jeremy Kyle.

If she's harassing you then keep a log and report to the police. IIRC a Cease & Desist letter isn't worth the paper it's written on, but I'm happy to be corrected by someone with legal knowledge.

My plan is to go for an injunction but to file I have to take other steps I. E cease and desist before I can file

Are you in the uk? If so the most sensible course of action is to involve the police.

Maidmummy · 07/07/2019 13:02

Yes I'm in the UK, currently on hold with the police

Police were no help as far as they are concerned there's not really anything they can do

Perhaps you need to go back to the police and quote the protection from harrassment act to them, along with threatening behaviour etc?
