What happens after the initial first 6 weeks worth of visits in a contact centre? What does the court think is the next step in progressing contact?
Thanks

There's different options, some continue in a contact centre, sometimes other arrangements are made

May74 · 16/06/2019 22:55

What sort of other arrangements?

It depends entirely on the specific situation. What is the reason the contact is in a contact centre in the first place? If it’s for safeguarding reasons, have those reasons been addressed? What are the child’s needs, and in some cases what are their wishes? What are the parents able to agree on? And so on...

If it's court ordered then you will need to use the contact centre but most separated parents just pick up from the ex partners house/a relatives act as go between/meet in a cafe or other neutral place. I know of people who did the handover at the contact centre but were allowed to go out for 4 hours during their contact time

Contact is in a contact centre as baby is only one and dad hasn’t had any contact with baby before

It will probably moved to supported contact out in the community if there are concerns for a period of four hours or so.
Supported by his mum or dad. Unless there are concerns for lo safety, being inexperienced isn't a reason to continue supervised contact once a period of contact has started.
