What do you mean by permission?
I have applied for my dc's with out putting in dads details .

Pipandmum · 08/06/2019 00:38

Yes you can.

Comefromaway · 08/06/2019 00:39

Yes unless there are any court orders in place.

bobbybella · 08/06/2019 08:02

Yes

prh47bridge · 08/06/2019 08:36

Yes you can unless the other parent gets a court order preventing you from doing so. However, if the other parent has PR you need their consent or an appropriate court order to take your child out of the country legally.

When I was about to do it online it said it will need dad’s birth certificate as well as my own to prove baby is British and obviously I can’t get dad’s birth certificate without telling him I’m getting the passport

If you know his details you can apply online for a copy of his birth certificate. Will look for a link for you...

Kittekats · 08/06/2019 09:00

He doesn’t need to know you have applied, anyone can do it.

SavoyCabbage · 08/06/2019 09:01

Anyone can order a copy of anyone's birth certificate.

SavoyCabbage · 08/06/2019 09:03

If he's British that is.

If he's not, or you don't know where and when he was born you will just have to say that on the form. Is he on your child's birth certificate?

bobbybella · 08/06/2019 09:08

When I applied for my child's passport, I rang them up and asked (did not want to have to contact violent abusive ex, plus I didn't know where he was), and they said just put whatever details I knew about him and write a covering letter, no need for his birth certificate.

You can if it's for a British passport, other countries are stricter and you need court orders etc
