Parking Charge Notice - did you pay?

Got one from Euro Car Parks for overstaying in a supermarket. It was one and a half hours over and I didn’t keep any receipts so no leg to stand on in terms of disputing it!
So the question is, any stories of successfully ignoring it, and any stories of being taken to court?
Thanks in advance!

Long threads on Money Saving Expert. There's some way to dispute it without admitting in anyway that the PCN has anything to do with you or your vehicle. I didn't have the brass. Key is not to admit any liability to them.

@Yourenotheonlycuddlytoy ask for CCTV from the shop?

I've never paid any of my private land PCMs and only one got to court and they cancelled as soon as we got the court date. I just ignored, ignored , ignored.

Since the law changed a few years ago the old advice to ignore tickets is more risky. The parking company no longer needs to prove that you were the driver and there charge is likely to be upheld if it goes to court. So if you ignore you are gambling that they won't take you to court.

Someone I know ignores d a PCN. They took it court and ended up getting a CCJ.

My advice would be to pay it. It's a relatively small price to pay given the alternatives.

Do you have a timed picture of your car? If it is clearly signed than pay the fine.
It's a lot less then going to court or having bailiffs.
I got one at Tesco for being 30 minutes longer even though I was shopping, had lunch and got the car washed. Then I got one for going in to a Toby Carvery to turn around, but you have to get a ticket, I appeal that one.

Pay it and just learn from it.

I had one from a supermarket car park. Went to the customer service desk with it and my till receipt from that day (which they didn’t even need to look at) they took the notice from me and told me they would deal with it. Never heard about it again.

If you broke the terms and conditions (which you seem to agree you did by overstaying 1.5 hours) then why would you dispute it/ignore it? It's now time to acknowledge that you made a mistake and be more careful next time.

Tap. Not worth the hassle. Most people who challenge them will lose and end up paying more

I had this once with Morrison's and also had not kept the receipt.

We contested it as had spent £180 in the supermarket there. We sent them a bank statement but they didn't accept it as it showed the date the transaction cleared rather than the day of the purchase but then we got a letter from our bank showing the date and amount and the parking company accepted it and the fine was rescinded.
