Does anyone have experience of the Leasehold Advice Centre?

NB - this is not the same thing as LEASE, the government advice website. I mean these people: leaseholdadvicecentre.co.uk/, which is, as far as I can see, a solicitor's specialising in leasehold issues.

I've got a slightly odd lease problem which is going round in circles, and tbh a switched on solicitor would be a boon. But otoh, I'm just one of a group of residents involved and I don't want to introduce a firm that's going to see them as a cash cow and drag them into unnecessary and expensive litigation. There are a lot of fabulous reviews on their website, but all uncheckable quotes and I'm not sure if the lady doth protest too much?

So, any experience with them, or knowledge of their reputation, much appreciated.

Go to LKP - Leaseholder Knowledge Partnership and National Leasehold Campaign. You will get recommendations of trusted people/solicitors who specialise in leases.
LKP are fab. They run free roadshows where they have experts who will look/explain your lease to you. I went to the one in Brighton a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, fantastic. That sounds exactly what we need. Thank you!

Hello r3dh3d

How did you get on with the recommendations? I’m in a similar situation and was thinking of contacting Leasehold Advice Centre. Guess we’re looking for niche solicitors but how do we know they’re good at what they do?

Thanks!

Leasehold Advise Centre is government run but is very much biased towards the freeholder. They are ok for standard questions but that's about it. If an issue is more complex, they can give incorrect advice.
See my post above for the organisations who are really and truly on the side if the leaseholder especially when dealing with unscrupulous freeholders or manage ment companies.
