London immigration for U.S. to U.K. immigration

Hi all

Can anyone recommend a London immigration lawyer? It is for my mum and her husband. She is a British citizen and he is US. They used to live together in the US and now she has moved back to the U.K. and he wants to join her. They are on cusp of retirement so not suitable for work visa systems.
Thanks in advance

Why do they need a lawyer?
She is a Brit so can come in anyway.
How much capital will they be repatriating?
How much will her pension be in the UK?
If its above the limit then surely she can just sponsor him to join her?

My mum's job is low paid so she earns below £18k per year and can't sponsor him as far as we can see. They were renting in the US but my stepdad has probably £20k banked.

There seems to be a 2 yr, 5yr or 10 yr route to getting leave to remain but can't work out which is best and what the first steps are.

They would need a lawyer @Ta1kinpeace because England has decided only people with a good job can take their spouse into the U.K. This includes SAHM with a high earning husband, let alone retirees. OP good luck I think the law is appalling.

I got my UK passport before TM brought all of her hostile environment laws in place Xmas Grin

And yup, if she's on under £30k they have a problem.

Oh no really? Our deduction from the website were that savings could count in lieu of salary?

they can, but £20k is less than 8 months of the required salary

You could try this firm www.gherson.com/. There will be plenty of others too.
