Can anyone recommend a PI solicitor in Birmingham?

Hi - have name changed.

Injured in a recent RTA, sustained losses. Third party admitted liability.

My insurer has said I can use their in-house solicitor however poor reviews online. I am apparently free to choose my own solicitor via the legal cover.

Any recommendations within Birmingham?

TIA

Does anyone know how motor legal insurance cover works please?

I have never made a claim before and am confused. I have rang two insurance companies and they have both advised that even though I have additional motor legal expenses on the fully comp insurance they will still deduct 25%?

I can recommend one in Kidderminster if you can get there. It's a little way out of Birmingham, but is doable.
Legal expenses cover can cover your own choice of solicitor, but this is usually only from the issue of proceedings, rather than from the outset of the case. That is all your LEI provider is obligated to provide, they can decline cover for your own choice of solicitor until then. Their terms of engagement with the solicitor might say that rather than getting paid to run your case on an hourly rate (unusual now with cfa's/'no win no fee' agreements) they have to run your case on a NWNF arrangement. Therefore all you really get out of the cover is the cover for adverse costs in the event that proceedings are issued and you lose, and possibly any fees for medical examination/reports and court fees.
I would suggest giving your motor legal cover provider a call directly and asking them specifically how it would work - NOT your motor insurer - the claims handlers for the first party claim very rarely know much in depth about the LEI cover on the policies as it's just not in their job role to deal with it, unless they're selling it!
Who is your LEI provider?
