Does it matter that that my log book has a different address to my insurance? I have moved recemtly and completely forgot to change it. I have had to make a claim ( not at fault). I have been sent paperwork to complete and they have also asked for logbook( im assuming to check that im registered keeper, which i am). Im worried that because there are two different addresses will my insurance be void. I genuinely did forget to do change it, i had a baby and moved to property 2 days later, so as you can imagine it did slip my mind. Im getting so worked up about it, couldnt sleep been stressing Sad

Put in to change it now.
It should only take a couple of days, then put in your claim.

It’s illegal to have it registered to the wrong address, you can be fined up to £1000, I wouldn’t risk trying to make a claim with it being registered illegally.

Sorry I thought you could do it online, it will take more than a couple of days, but it definitely needs doing today if possible.

I had to call them when the incident happend so the claim started from then, if i change the address now it will seem dodgy wont it.

Having the wrong address on your registration will not void your insurance. It may lead to some questions but that is all. The insurers can only refuse to pay if they find something that is directly relevant to the claim. Even driving a car without a valid MOT does not automatically invalidate your insurance (contrary to common myth). Forgetting to update the V5C after moving house doesn't get close.

Also, if you are not at fault it will be the other driver's insurance that will ultimately pay, not yours. Your insurers will pay you and will reclaim the money from the other driver's insurance.

Just get it done and when they query it you can simply explain that you thought you had done it when you moved and didn’t realise you hadn’t, it’s a simple mistake.
It’s better to explain that then wait for them mention it and likely refuse your claim and invalidate your insurance because of it.

If you moved within the last couple of months I don’t imagine they will have a problem with it.

Just to repeat, they cannot refuse the OP's claim just because the address on the V5C is incorrect.

The car was stolen and reported, so even if i did want to change the address would it not come up on DVLA system that it is stolen and I'm trying to change the address

DVLA will not know that your car has been stolen. It remains registered to you until your insurers pay out, at which point you will tell DVLA that it has been sold to the insurance company.
