PPI Claims

I made two claims for PPI, one for a loan with NatWest, one which was on a mortgage for Abbey (AN Paymentcare). I have had an offer from RBS in respect of the NatWest loan, and the deadline for Santander to respond to me for the Abbey mortgage before I can escalate to Ombudsman is Monday.

The Santander compensation is likely to be much much higher, as I was paying AN Paymentcare for about 10 years. I just want to check that if I accept the offer from RBS it won't affect the other claim in any way?

I'm just looking at the paragraph of the acceptance confirmation I need to return which says

" I wish to accept the Bank's net offer of £XXXX in full and final sttlement of all or any claims which I might have against The Royal Bank of Scotland Group or any subsidiary companies in respect of my Natwest Payment Protection Insurance policies for loan account number xxxxxxxxx".

I understand that this paragraph means that if I had any other claims in respect of that specific loan, I wouldn't be able to claim them if accepting this....

Just want to check that RBS and Santander are completely separate and the offer refers only to the specific account mentioned..

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I have anxiety which makes me overthink things sometimes. I am pretty sure the two claims would be entirely separate and the two companies separate but just need to check due to anxiety...

Santander is not a subsidiary of RBS. The paragraph you quote only prevents you from making further claims relating to the specific account. Even if Santander was a subsidiary of RBS any claim against them would not be affected. But RBS and Santander are completely separate.

Yes completely separate
