Fake accident and car damage

I need some advice. On September 2017 someone cut my driving line, and I had to go out of the road. She ran away, and we followed her until she stopped about a mile away. There were no damages in her car, and mine had only a little scratch on the painting. Due to that, after call 911 we decided to abandon the place and continue our drive.
However, after taking my tag number, she made another 911 call from another place and accused me to hit her and run with damages over $2000. We lost the case because the abandon of the site before the police came and I already have to pay about $2000 in tickets and court fees.
The problem now is that the DV is requesting the payment of that damage because my insurance was canceled in that moment and I didn't know it, so I appear as uninsured.
I have the two 911 calls she made, where she said there were no damages. After requesting information from her insurance, I got pictures of damages in places where is impossible to be caused by the accident.
Not only she faked the accident and lied to the police and the hearing officer of the court, but also is screwing her insurance and trying that I pay for damages I didn't provoke.
I want that someone tell me if I can sue her for all these tricks and lies, and how to do it by myself, because I am not able to pay for lawyer costs.
Thank you so much for any counseling.

So you were uninsured and left the scene of an accident?
You're clearly not in the UK so I don't know the law where you are but that is totally illegal here.

It’s not going to help that:

  1. You’re on a UK based site.
  2. You live in another country, which is where this incident occurred.
  3. You haven’t even said which country it is (not that you’re likely to find a specialist in RTA law from your country posting on UK MN anyway).

You’re optimistic though. I like that.

I am sorry but your best bet would be asking a USA site, while this is a predominantly English speaking site the vast majority of the Users are from UK / Rep of Ireland.

What also complicates matters is each state has different rules (and in some states each county does too so you would be much better looking at the local state rules / laws about it.)

Thank you, but I am not a lawyer and I don't understand correctly the meaning of the legal texts. I am living in Citrus County, Florida, if this is of some help.
Thank you anyway.

I sorry I cannot help you with American Law, but i do wish you luck and do think your best bet would be to ask a lawyer in Florida or google Florida legal forums.
