If someone reports you driving without a license / MOT / insurance, do the police still need to catch you doing it before they can act?

Premiertav. That's why I'm asking the questions, I actually don't know.* On the website where you can check insurance, it says insured. The policy was purchased before licence revoked.* So still insured or not?

That sucks glavaar I'm really sorry nothing's been done about that. But I know the guys in our area spend their whole shift attending 999s and are completely exhausted.
I work in "admin", and our workload is horrendous.

I know. I really do respect the police, and the brave work they do. I'm a HCP, and hate the effect of the cuts on all public services.

But then I refuse to make a statement re a breach of a non mol (have done this before and it's led nowhere and is bloody traumatic going to court for no reason at all as nothing ever happens), and am told if I don't co-operate, the police will repeatedly turn up at my home and work address until I do.

And the few times a year they turn up, 3 police cars, surrounding my house looking for him, and searching my property. When they know I haven't been involved with him for years and years. I've told them so many times, every time I give his mums address which they have anyway, and reiterate that I haven't seen him in months/ years. But a few months later, they rock up again. Goes down wonderfully with both the neighbours, and my terrified 3yo. Not to mention his current girlfriend who makes numerous malicious 'welfare concern' calls re us, which lead to more 4am visits, and have caused my toddler to have a serious phobia of the police.

Sometimes their priorities seem somewhat skewed. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sorry to derail OP. Sore subject clearly Blush

If it's insured it's insured. Insurance is fuck all to do with whether policy holder has a driving licence or not.

In my policing area the vehicle would be circulated and ongoing attempts would be made to catch it moving. It's helpful if you can provide specific times and locations of where it is regularly used.

user4567 · 27/08/2018 00:15

What would be the likely outcome if caught moving?

I reported it. I'm sick of him thinking he can just do what he likes. And the possible consequences that just get brushed off.
