Child arrangement order for a baby

Hi I’m just looking for some advice?
I’ve got a court hearing with my ex partner next week, we split up when I was pregnant for domenstic abuse reasons, he hasn’t wanted any contact up until 3 weeks ago when I started seeing someone. However now he wants shared care, due to my baby being so young (15 weeks) I’ve made her available for contact for 2 hour periods three times a week, however after the first two contact sessions he refused to return her to me, and told me she would be living with him from now on, I was lucky enough to get an emergency hearing and the judge ordered that she was returned to me immediately. But I’m just so apprehensive now about him having any kind of unsupervised contact. Has anyone had experience with a baby so young and child arrangement orders? Tia

Little and often, like you had before, is the ideal, but if you are unable to trust him to return the baby a contact centre may be the only answer.

What an idiot.

Have you had your cafcass letter yet? Listen to what they say.

Have you sort any legal advice? As he has taken her and not given her back I would suggest contact centre only. Alternatively be proactive and take him to court. I do appreciate this costs though.

As you’ve been on the receiving end of domestic abuse you may (subject to satisfying the financial test) be eligible to receive legal aid. See a solicitor about that.
Also do what MrsBertBibby has mentioned.

Is he on the birth certificate?

Is he on the birth certificate?

That doesn’t affect the issue of contact.

Sorry I’m only now seeing these, I took him to court the hearing was today and he was granted 2 hours a week unsupervised, while cafcass do their checks, well a section 7 report... which is a brilliant outcome as now all his lifestyle choices will be brought out like his involvement with police ect, it scares me her going with him because I don’t even recognise the person he is anymore, I’ve got a lot of faith in cafcass tho so hopefully they will advise the right outcome. Thank you for all your replies xx
