Restraining order

Anyone know about how to manage child contact where there is a restraining order in place?

I'm worried that if I allow contact between ex and I re child contact arrangements etc that I will lose the protection of the restraining order. However if I don't communicate with ex it's going to be hard making child contact arrangements.

It's worded to say the only contact between us is about child contact and through a solicitor.

Well, communication is via his solicitor, so I don’t see the issue there. Either there is a contact centre involved, and the timings are such that you never risk bumping in to him, or there is a trusted 3rd party doing the collection and return.

Is the restraining order time limited, or indefinite?

If the former, how long does it run?

A RO can be varied to enable comms about children only, and those comms either direct, or email only, or via a specified 3rd party only. It's tough to impose an indefinite requirement for him to use a lawyer.

What collaborate says.

It's possible for arrangements to be made without you coming into contact. If you don't want him to know your details, etc. it's possible to do that too - such as him making an application to the court (a C4 form) which means you remain protected at all times.
