Contact about to restart DD will not go

I have been in and out of court with DD's father for a year now and nothing has improved. She is now 2.5. We have had 3 different supervisors for contact who have all said the father doesn't make an effort and there is no bond between them. The second to last order was for supervised contact. The supervisor walked out due to father's behaviour. I spent 40 minutes trying to get DD to separate.. Back at court they ordered the handovers to take place at a contact centre 40 minutes away from both our houses. It has been 6 months since the last contact. Her father will not engage in any methods to prepare her. For example FaceTime, transition booklet, quick visit to my house or for me to visit his house with her. I'm scared for her. What can I do?

So there is court ordered contact but your ex has not attended for 6 months?

Why did the supervisor leave after 40mins? Quite dangerous and surely misconduct? She is there to supervise and protect?

Why do you not want the ex to have contact? What risks does he pose?

Why has the judge awarded contact if your ex has not attended ?

I'm assuming supervisor took your DD out when s/he left?

Jamielee444 · 01/07/2018 07:16

The order was was supervised but when the supervisor walked out (during the handover I should have added!) The contact did not continue the supervisor was a friend of his family.

It has taken 6 months to get contact restarted. I offered him lots of alternative options. But he wanted to go to court.

It was during the handover so I took DD home when the father realised DD wouldn't separate after 40 minutes of trying

It sounds as if you need proper professional supervision, not a family friend. But that costs and it sounds like he won't contribute.

What is the new arrangement meant to be?

Jamielee444 · 01/07/2018 12:36

I suggested one more session of supervised contact at the centre but father did not agree. The new arrangement is handover at the contact centre so a 40 minute drive there, then handover, 40 minute drive back to her dad's, then 40 minutes back to the centre and then I drive her back home. She will spend 20 minutes with him not on the car.
It's the length of time with out contact that concerns me the most . 6 months is a significant gap of contact.

And are you due back in court any time soon? Has CAFCASS been asked to report?

Jamielee444 · 01/07/2018 15:22

No not due back in court but I can see us going back.

I don't see how carrying on like this is in your child's best interest.

Are you able to get proper legal advice? This sounds like a right mess, but It's very hard to advise without seeing the papers.
