Who should you go to to question how a solicitor is handling a will?

Have you tried asking the solicitor?

I assume you are a beneficiary in the will. If you have serious concerns about how the will is being executed find your own solicitor who practices estate law to discuss your concerns with. Many will offer a free initial consultation. Don't expect a quick payout.

Hi, Thank you. It has now taken over a year to settle a simple Will. The money has been collected and is sitting in their account. The initial Executor has recently died. A sub Executor is stated in the Will however the solicitor will not pass on to this person and will only deal with the Executor of the initial Executor (who doesn't really want to take on this role!) They are now also saying they will not release the money funds until the house is sold. Aggghhh!!

If it's not being handled properly a letter from another solicitor pointing out the errors and requesting specific streps be taken will probably get things moving.

Good luck.

It's not my area, but I do know that if the executor dies then their executor steps in to their shoes. I think the "sub executor" may be a red herring.
