Incorrect Probate

My mum died in January 2017. I'm an only child so inherited the house and savings. The estate went through probate which was granted quickly in March 2017. With a heavy heart I sold my childhood home and the sale went through smoothly with no issue.

Fast forward to now and DH and I are buying a new home. We need a small mortgage and the financial advisor is sorting this out. He's asked for the probate certificate just to prove I haven't got the large deposit by other means.

On looking at the certificate yesterday DH noticed something both us and all the solicitors missed - the address is wrong. Rather than being number 32 Acacia Avenue it's number 33 Acacia Avenue.
Now this shouldn't matter to the financial guy, but I don't know if this is something I need to get corrected or not?

Can't believe it was missed in the original sale!

The address of the deceased on the Grant shouldn't be too much of an issue. It may be too late to try to change it. If however you do want it changed then the first step would be to see whether it's the Probate Registry's error (which happens more often than people realise) or your solicitor's error in the Oath you swore to.

If it were me I wouldn't worry but then I can imagine wanting the Grant to be correct.

Feel for you, isn't it maddening when small error like that creep in. Like a PP, i can imagine wanting it to be correct, but in practice I cannot imagine how it would ever cause any issue, so I would tend to just not worry about it.

Thanks both. As long as it's not going to cause issue I think I'll just leave it as is. Mum would have been amused by it I'm sure having spent 40 years receiving mail for the next street.
