Divorce costs

Hi all,

Currently in the process of Divorce, my decree nisi was pronounced about a month ago. My ex has been ordered by the judge to pay my costs and thus far my solicitor has received no response from his solicitors and is saying after a period of time it may be the case that it goes to court again to enforce the order for the costs. I knew he'd be difficult, he has been during the whole process even though the marriage breakdown was due to his adultery. I was just wondering if anyone else had been though this process and if going to court again will cost me further or even in fact hold up my divorce being finalised? I'm at that stage now where I just want it all over and done with and him out of my life for good!

Is the costs order for a stated amount, or just "Respondent shall pay Petitioners costs"?

AmIreallybeingselfish · 19/04/2018 14:15

It states the actual amount that he owes. My solicitor originally contacted his and asked for payment within 14 days and it's been over a month now and I know what he's like, he will try and find any way possible to avoid paying.

Are there any assets being sold or are you buying him out of the former matrimonial home?

Nope no financial ties like that, luckily we always rented. It's taken 2 years to get to this point as he's held it up a lot. We do have 2 children but he made the choice when he left to not see them again despite me pleading with him but he does pay child maintenance. I just want to move on with my life now and get the divorce done.
