Is this the psychic healer/counsellor guy?

Lonecatwithkitten · 05/03/2018 16:28

Would depend what they are pretending to be. For example my profession, a vet. Posing as a veterinary surgeon and carry out treatment is cover under the veterinary surgeons act.

Depends what they are claiming to be qualified in.

Some professions are regulated and it's an offence to claim that you are qualified in a profession when you aren't.

But a surprising amount of professions aren't and ultimately it may only starts to become an offence if they are pretending to be someone they are not in order to commit some other kind of offence e.g theft, fraud etc.

hatgirl and others have it, it depends on what profession they're claiming to be and if they're claiming to be that for an illegal purpose.

Contact the professional body they are purporting to be a member of/accredited by, and ask them.
