Leaving husband - housing

Hi,

So, I've decided to leave my husband, he keeps threatening it anyway, not sure if they are empty or not but seems he doesn't want to leave me mainly for his own convenience and he doesn't know what he'd do. Says he'd kill him self cos he couldn't start again (also suffers from depression) I need to know what options I have regarding housing if anyone knows? I've emailed citizens advice too.

We have two children one in preschool and the other in nursery, I work 3 days a week and have an annual salary of about £16k a year.

I want to in-or around the area I live for my children’s school and nursery.

Anyone know roughly what options I've got?

Thanks
Rachael

You could try to approach your local authority and women’s aid as the threats of suicide and to leave sound as if they could be emotional abuse.

However your local authority may not consider you a priority

Depends where you are. In some councils you will not be seen as priority. Can you not find a private let? Start shopping round. The days of expecting the state to sort it as long gone in a lot of areas. Lots of people will tell you you'll get loads of tax credits but if you're in a UC area that's not so.

Is your home owned, privately rented, HA or what? Whose name is it in?

Are you the main cater for your kids? If so then your husband should leave while you and the kids stay in the family
