Lots of us know about them, what is it you specifically want to know. You can read up about them on the gov.uk website, you will also need to read the mental capacity act 2005 online. Power of attorney covers two aspects of dealing with someone's affairs, there is the financial one which can be used immediately it has been registered or when someone loses the capacity to make financial decision and there is a health and welfare one which enables someone to deal with those things when the person has lost the capacity to make decisions. They do not replace a Will, the person affected still has choices and has to agree with handing over power of attorney to someone else. The person must be able to understand what is involved, sign it, have it witnessed and you need to pay 82 POUNDS for each one.
