Hi, I don't suppose anyone has been through or has knowledge about probate do they? I'm looking through the forms and have some questions. Thank you,

Hi, thank you. It's the questions about family, It asks for information about surviving children and other family members like his aunts/uncles

Whoops! Posted too soon! My dad never really spoke about his family so I'm not sure if my grandfather/grandmother had brothers and sisters? I never knew my grandparents either. My Dad had 2 daughters from a previous marriage who he lost contact with when they were very young, I am 34 and they haven't spoken in all of that time, plus my parents were married 42 years and they lost contact before this, so I'm really unsure?

As far as I can remember you are expected to complete the form to the best of
Your knowledge. Are you executor and beneficiary? Are there other beneficiaries? Is this a parent who has passed away? I do believe if it is all very straightforward then there is no reason to worry.
I stand to be corrected if this is not the case.
I would suggest though that you ring the probate helpline. I called them many times (as I was filling in the forms I made a list of questions as I went along) and they were very understanding and helpful.

Yes I'm the executor and the sole beneficiary, no one else is named in the will. It's my parents home, mum passed away in June, shortly after my dad died in August. Thank you, I didn't see a number, I will call for advice.

Sounds really straight forward I wouldn’t worry about distant relations.
Not sure what would happen regarding his previous daughters - were they mentioned in the will at all?
Worth a ring to the advice line for your own peace of mind anyway.

No, both parents had the same in their wills, if they die everything goes to the husband/wife. If that person is no longer alive everything goes to me. (My name) I will definately call though, thanks for your help.
