Employment tribunal tomorrow- any pearls of wisdom?

Self representing tomorrow at an employment tribunal. From what I can gather the employer's are also self representing. Any tips or pearls of wisdom? Things to definitely avoid doing?

I feel quite well prepared- had advice from legal aid, have prepared the document bundle and have lots of copies, and have printed off the relevant sections of the Employment Right's Act that support our claim.

I think I've avoided thinking about it to avoid nerves and now it's actually happening I'm getting a bit nervous!

Don't get angry- even if they lie through their teeth- "that is not what happened and your untrue statements are what have made me so distressed" or whatever the situation may be. Good luck.

Are there witness statements? If so, go through theirs and make a list of the points that you want to cross examine them on. Make sure you know what is where in the bundle. Good luck x

Cross reference their statements with anything they've said in other documents which are inconsistent and challenge them on it.

Stick to the issues - if you're not sure what the legal issues are, I am sure the Judge will explain at the outset.

I echo stay calm. You don't want to look like you have any kind of axe to grind.

Good luck!

How did it go op? Any results?

When you are there you want to build a narrative that ticks all of the legal boxes. So your story will go along the lines employee did thing (illegal) things, then they did that (illegal) things when then directly caused (whatever it is that you are suing them form).
