Conditional Fee Agreement - Changing solicitors.

Hi,

I wondered if you could offer some advice?

I have instructed a firm of solicitors to assist with my case using a no win no fee agreement. At present all that they have done is request my medical notes & reviewed them once. I am unhappy with them and would like to terminate proceedings with them and go with another local solicitors firm.

They advised me I do not have a case, however when I mentioned changing solicitors of course that view changed.

I have been advised that if I terminate then I have broken the 'Conditional fee agreement' and now I'm worried as I don't have the thousands to cover their legal costs to date!

Would the new solicitors be able to take on the costs under their insurance? or would I need to pay all of the original solicitors fees?

If there are any solicitors on here please would you be able to tell me a rough figure of the costs of requesting the notes, sorting the chronology and reviewing them?

Thank you in advance!
