Court hearings

Has anyone been through a child arrangement order court hearing?

I've had one court hearing but the father didn't turn up so it has been rescheduled basically the reason I stop contact between my dd and her father because I found out he had been taking her to sell drugs to people so immediately phoned social services (which was extremely hard don't know why but I felt so ashamed) he's now taking me to court because he's denying it all I've since found out that he is driving round with out a license he also introduced my dd to 2 previous partners when he was having her on weekends and he was having what ever girl he was with at the time bathing her, getting up with her threw the night and then lying to me about it even though when we split up we both agreed that we wouldn't introduce lili to any of our partners until we knew it was serious.. I feel betrayed hurt angry and most of all concerned.. he's recently been coming up to see her under my supervision as I still believe it is important for my dd to have some sort of relationship with her dad but he's started becoming really inconsistent and only coming up every now and again but then saying I'm stopping him from seeing her again

Really I just want reassurance I'm doing the right thing and maybe know how other people have got through this sort of thing. Sad

How old is your daughter? I assume pretty small.

What was his excuse for not coming to court?

AuntieStella · 05/08/2017 08:39

I think you are doing the right thing in sorting this out through the courts.

I think the key things will be the presence of your DD when illegal activity is occurring and if he is regularly driving her. If you think he drives without a licence, but never drives your DD, it won't be relevant. Nor will his introducing new partners.

They way you describe the introduction if the new (transient) partners sounds utterly shit. And it can be the hardest thing to come to terms with. But it isn't a reason to withhold contact.

I don't have any advice to give I'm afraid as I've never got a far as court. Wishing you the best of luck.
Although I agree it's not grounds to withhold contact (having his new gf bathing your DD etc) I would say that given the other things he has been doing I wouldn't trust his judge of character for these women.
It probably won't go well for him in court if he didn't turn up, but everything depends on the judge.

His excuse was that he just didn't know he wasn't told the court weren't happy and It's just what ever I do I'm doing something wrong in somebody's eyes I'm just trying to do what is right by her.. just finding it hard to deal with it all

Try not to worry about what anyone thinks, just do what is right for you and your DD. Stick to the law
