Hi there

Hoping for some advice.

I have absolutely no idea about this type of stuff...feel a bit like a silly child :(

I am a single mother to one DC (age 5). I live in a council flat. I have a PT job and survive on that along with working tax credits. I have no assets or savings.

I am being told I should write a will. But I don't see the point if I have nothing to leave my DC? Is there something else I should be thinking about putting in there?

Also should I think about Life Insurance?

Please don't feel like a silly child. I have recently had to make my own will having previously put it off thinking nothing will ever happen. Unfortunately my ds dad passed away recently and I've had to get things in place in case anything happens to me.
On speaking to a lot of friends and family it seems that the majority of them do not have a will in place.

Bimbo - so sorry to hear about your DC father Flowers - must be so hard. And yes, its the same for me..none of my friends or indeed colleagues seem to have a will Confused

OnTheHighSeas Flowers thanks so much for the recommendation.

Another one who used mumblechum's services. Absolutely brilliant. And once your Will is written and your insurance is set up, you can forget about it!

I'm sure she'll be able to advise who will be in charge of the life assurance money if anything happened to you - you don't want your ex to have free rein over the money, I assume.

Imperial Flowers for you too, many thanks for your kind words!

Imperial - you would be right RE: the ex Grin

Can't wait to have it all done and dusted. And mumblechum - I will probably have a member of my family contact you soon...it seems writing a will is catching Smile

26goog It is indeed, I often write a will for someone and then end up doing their whole extended family! Smile

I would still definitely sort out a will and get life insurance. Maybe look at one that has illness cover if you're a single mum. There's loads of places to get good free advise. I used these guys, they were helpful - lifeinsuranceonline.blog/get-a-quote/
