Personal injury lawyers

Can anyone advise on how to find a good PI lawyer? ( I'm in London if anyone has any recommendations).

I recently sustained a couple of significant injuries ( requiring physio and surgery) which I believe were due to negligence on the part of a personal trainer.

I'm not sure I have the energy to pursue a claim but I would at least like to make a formal complaint to the gym as I feel they need to tighten up procedures and training so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. A lawyer friend suggested I do this in a 'letter before action' format.

Any advice? Many thanks

The small claims site has good templates for letters before action. This will cost you the price of a stamp.

Be sure you are writing to the correct party though. Many personal trainers have an agreement to use gym space and are actually self-employed. If it was the trainer who caused your injuries rather than e.g. a gym machine being incorrectly set up, then you probably need to write direct to him as it may be his insurance which would need to defend the claim rather than the gym.
