High Court of Justice case

Is there anyone who can shed some light on why my husband's barrister and counsel now want his case to be heard at the High Court in London as opposed at the County Court where we were initially told that it would be heard in?! ( we've just got the documents through yesterday so can't speak to the solicitors until tomorrow). We're hoping it's a good sign. Btw he is not the defendant but the case is ongoing and stressful. I initially high jacked another thread but feel embarrassed so feel that I should ask in my own. For background he had a near fatal motorbike accident 2.5 years ago and the defendant is still denying liability despite the police saying that it was her fault. Don't want to post too much incase it hampers his case but. thank you for reading.

There can be tactical advantages to high court. It can mean you have a higher level of judge to hear it. It's not something to worry about, but ask the barrister why they recommend it. Also ask which court the case would be heard in.

Thank you for replying Convincing it's in the Queens bench division. He spoke with one of the senior partners on Monday as his solicitor is on holiday and she said that the barrister is confident. It's been going on for 2.5 years. The police said that it was the woman's fault but she went back to her own country a few days later and her insurance are playing hard ball. It's been the worse few years!

Thank you baby it's been a stressful few years Dfil died last year and I lost my beloved DM in September. DH nearly died at the scene but was stabilised after what seemed like forever to then be airlifted to a major trauma unit. I sometimes think that I can't take anymore. We're hopeful that justice will be done and if we need to go to the High Court then so be it. The defendants insurers are not replying to requests for information on something like aPart/Form something or other?!?

The court has the ability to deal with non compliant parties, but it takes time. Hang in there!
