Can a beneficiary contest an executor's decision

If an executor of a will (who is also a beneficiary) decides to employ a solicitor to manage aspects of the probate process, can another beneficiary contest this? Obviously the solicitor would need to be paid from the estate in the situation I am imagining.

You can try, but you'd not get anywhere. Being executor is a duty where most people prefer to seek legal representation. The decision to seek such representation is therefore quite unremarkable.
