Kitchen gone wrong!

Can anybody offer some advise....at the beginning of the year my partner and I added a large amount to our mortgage to get a new kitchen fitted. This included taking a wall Down and some other basic building work. On ordering we paid a deposit of ??1500 via credit card. The work started on 16th of March. We paid for the kitchen units and appliances 3 days prior to delivery, and we paid the delivery cost to the driver. The fitter supplied by the kitchen company was to be paid on completion of the job. This amount is ??1192. The total cost was ??19k and all but the ??1192 has been paid.
The company designed my new kitchen, they surveyed the room, made the units to fit based on their design, supplied the builder (although self employed) and supplied the kitchen fitter (employed by the builder). We chose to use a company as we had just 1 point of contact and somebody to oversee the project.
From the start there seemed to be slight issues, but we dealt with th daily.
On the fitters completion I noticed a few snags that I wasn't happy with, so contacted my installation mamager who agreed to send someone to sort these out.
After 2 weeks, we were still waiting for my snags to be sorted, I noticed that my cupboard doors have bowed anywhere near heat eg, my tumble dryer, cooker, dishwasher! On further inspection we started to notice some further issues, I contacted the company and was told it would be dealt with.
Well it's now September and I am still waiting for this to be rectified, we have had every reason for the delay given to us from staff holidays to sickness.
The only money owed is the fitter fee, but I very disappointed with the whole thing. What can I do???

Contact Trading Standards for advice.

Write them a letter giving the company X days to arrange to sort things out with a date by which the works must be completed to your satisfaction or you'll commence legal action. Check the company's status on Companies House beta service - you can see their accounts, who the directors and shareholders are etc to get an idea of their financial position.

Make a list of all the faults and every time you have contacted them - it'll be part of your evidence. Get a quote for putting things right. You may have to sue them. Sue them for the amount required to fix the issues. If it's up to ??10,000 you can use the small claims procedure.

Your contract was with the company, that they subcontracted others is not your concern.

Get in touch with the credit card company asap, remind them they are liable and ask what they would advise.
