Not strictly a legal matter, but after your advice just the same.

My DC did something very stupid, and we were given acesss to a law student, working under a barrister, to help us out of the mess, pro bono.

A fantastic help and the student has been excellent.

Id like to buy her something as a personal thank you for all the work she has put in, but I dont know if this is appropriate?

(I was thinking along the lines of an amazon/pizza /wine / costa voucher or similar.)

I also want to write to her supervising barristers' firm, expressing our gratitude and giving some positive praise for the young lady. Again, is this appropriate?

Finally, the service has been shortlisted for an award from the law society, and I would love the organisation to get the recognition they deserve - I dont know if a letter to the law society awards team would be a good idea?

What do you think?

Yes to all of your lovely letters, I have had nice flowers and wine as gifts too and they are always appreciated.
