I have a 17 year old son who after a few incidents last year has become known to the police.
Today a police officer came to our home to visit son , he reassured son that he was not in any trouble (son has some special needs ) it was just a visit .
Whilst chatting with son he asked for his mobile number and network he was on . He then asked what size shoe he was all this was noted down. Then asked why he was known to police as he had not checked systems.
Before he left he reassured us that he was in no trouble and that we would probably not see him again as he was only working our area for that day. He usually worked "kicking doors in" his words .
It was only after he left that realised he hadn't told us his name or number so I contacted our local neighbourhood team where he said he was based for the day. The desk Sargent I spoke to said she had no idea who attending officer was nor was there any reason for an officer to visit our home . All she told me to do was to wait and see if he comes back and not to worry .
Please can anyone tell me if this is usual practice as I am beginning to worry.
Thanks
