Can we draft a consent order ourselves?

And submit it to the court?

H and I are divorcing amicably.

We own our house outright and have paid equally into it over the years.
We are both retired and our pensions are equal and will not change significantly.
We both have savings of around £10,000 in our own bank accounts and no major assets
No debts or dependents.
Both worked and contributed.

Basically it's just the house that needs dividing 50/50. Value £180k
We both consider we have contributed equally and can't see why we need to add to our costs. I have paid £410 for the court which H will reimburse me half voluntarily.

Any ideas?

Yes you can. There is nothing to stop you and your ex agreeing something and putting it before the court.

What happens when you get there depends on the judge however. Some of them will happily put it into the correct form and rubber stamp it while others may tell you to seek legal assistance.

Thank you that sounds like a plan! I suppose they can just reject it and we would have to get it drawn up in legalese but it's worth a try

We will send a covering letter setting out our savings and pension and insurance issues plus the contribution to the house issue.

Hopefully he will understand we have gone through these issues and are happy not to claim and the reasons why

Thanks
