Neighbour issues - public space and parties

There's a large green space in the middle of our estate with 40 houses facing around it. All HA tenants.

Frequently (daily at present) a few neighbours are using it as an extension of their gardens with chairs, Bbqs, rubbish everywhere and tonight a very large bouncy castle. The noise is deafening and there's also a stereo system out there.

Is this legally permissible?

Majority of neighbours are not out there and majority also have young children.

I keep twitching about phoning 101, but is this a police issue?

Oh it sounds horrendous! :(

I'm sure they are just enjoying the last of the warm weather and the bouncy castle sounds like great fun (is it for all on the Estate to be free to use or just them) but the constant noise and stereo system would drive me crackers! Some people just like to be so "public" don't they- why can't they use their own houses/gardens...

I would start with calling the H/A and speak to your local Housing Officer. In my experience they tend to be hot on noise disturbances like this. Are you all with the same H/A? Have you checked your tenancy contact to see if there is anything in there about the use of the green?

Although not an HA, PL have a similar set-up and there is a small sign with the rules on it.

Hi and thanks for the replies. It's an ongoing problem really and I was thinking that public space like is not really supposed to be used like this.

Can I ask what PL is, please?
