Decree absolute and financial orders

If we have the decree absolute before any financial agreement is made, can my ex still make a claim on my pension?

I have a substantial public sector pension and he has no private pension.

Yes, but if he's the Respondent he can't issue an application after he's remarried.

Most lawyers would advise however in getting the financial order done before decree absolute.

The divorce was sorted out ages ago. He refused to co operate with any financial discussions and has now announced he is taking me to court for the house and my pension.

Isn't any weight given to the fact that he has had perfect opportunity to take out his own pension but has refused to?

And if I am housing the children, do I really have an obligation to provide him with substantial amounts of money and housing, just because he has chosen to work part time?

I can't afford a solicitor. Somehow he has legal aid Hmm
