A question about being an executor to a will

I know that a executor does not have to sign anything to agree to be an executor as they can just be nominated but if the person writing the will wants the executors to sign to agree is that possible?

Yes, for the avoidance of any future doubt, it is a good idea for the will-writer to write to you asking you to be executor of the will dated and you write back - or write your confirmation on that letter.

Thank you, That is what I thought although in my case the will writer actually brought a document to my house for me to sign and date,

This was about 3 years ago and I have never felt the need to question it up untill now when I am being questioned by another person stating that it couldn't have been that as in their experience there would be nothing to sign so I must have signed something else.
