Any one know any thing about private tenants' rights in Scotland

Our landlord is selling our house. They haven't engaged an estate agent to carry out the viewings and would like us to do them. Am I obliged to do these? We have a bog standard short assured tenancy, which is now into the rolling phase.

If there is nothing written into your lease you are under no obligation to allow access for viewings at all. However I would advise against that if I'm perfectly honest. You are under no obligation at all to carry out the viewings either. It's maybe worth putting together a letter to your landlord saying you are more than happy for prospective buyers to be shown around on X,Y,Z days or any day providing you have been given 24 hours notice but that you are not willing to do the showing yourself.

Thanks, Cupid, that's what I thought. I really want to be as cooperative as possible but would have struggled to carry out the viewings myself. Its quite a big commitment.

No you don't! And if you do anything to help him out make sure he has a home report for the property. It is illegal to sell without one.
