Been told my Statement of Issues contains open proposals!

Filed questionaires and statement of issues just before Christmas, am in family court in New Year.

Received letter today saying 3 of my issues on the statement have been earlier quoted in correspondence between solicitors and so are now open proposals.

I did have a solicitor but am now self repping, do i have to withdraw these statements as i'm been told, or can i leave them out. Don't want to leave them out as they are the issues ie the house, and a large family debt.

Hope i've explained this well enough for someone to understand but really would like some help with what i do next.

Could anyone give me some advice on this please.

Am in family court at the end of the week, and really dont know what to do about my Statement Issues as been told today i have to withdraw my original form.

Can i take a new Statement with me, if i take copies for everyone?

I wouldn't worry about it. There isn't anything much you can do in advance anyway; it'll be sorted out at the hearing. No doubt your ex's solicitors will ask the judge to strike those questions out, you'll explain why they should stay in and the judge will decide.

You can add questions on the day, though clearly it won't go down well if you want to add loads. And of course, the other solicitor will probably try to get the judge to refuse to include them.

The statement of issues isn't as important as the list of questions, because it doesn't have much impact on anything (I'm assuming this is a first hearing?), whereas the list of questions determines what information you'll have to exchange with your ex's solicitor.

Keep in mind, I'm not a lawyer, but the above is my experience having been through it recently.

Just seen your reply thank you again (i checked my emails first).

My ex's solicitor was newly qualified, and didn't mention my first statement of issues, actually think he forgot!

They also tried to get some of questions striked out, but the Judge said they could all stay :)

Am so glad i was truthful in my form e, would hate to be in my ex's position having to prove as truthful all the questions i've put in his Questionaire.

Thank you again.
