Waiting time

Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place

My daughter had an orthopaedics appointment recently, we were there with time to spare but then told we would have a max of 45 min wait as dr was behind. We ended up waiting 2 hours plus!!!!

We have another appointment tomorrow and I am having to take unpaid time off I can't be long as there is no cover for me. Are there, does anybody know, any official rules regarding waiting times for such appointments

In a lot of hospitals and on all the letters they send (my hospitals anyway) it clearly states'

"this is an arrival time and you may be waiting longer and may not be seen at this time"

There are signs all over the walls too here. It sucks I know

You often have long waits if you're using the NHS. If you pay to go privately the appointment times are more strictly adhered to.

There's nothing you can really do unfortunately I've had it before I've gone in from the hospital ward as an emergency (for the ophthalmologist) being seen straight away and been in there an hour, it would push your time back by at least an hour if your seeing that Dr however there's not much you can do

Can someone else take her?
